- การออมเป็น "เกมแห่งระยะเวลา" (game of time) ใครเริ่มต้นก่อน ก็รวยก่อน เพราะยิ่งทิ้งไว้นาน ยิ่งได้เป็นกอบเป็นกำ ถือเป็น "เงื่อนไขจำเป็น" ของทุกคนที่มีเป้าหมายต้องการบรรลุสู่อิสรภาพทางการเงิน
- การลงทุนเป็น "เกมแห่งจังหวะเวลา" (game of timing) ต้องรู้จังหวะในการเข้าออกจากตลาดที่เหมาะสม ซื้อเมื่อต่ำ ขายเมื่อสูง หยุดเมื่อสงสัย เพราะถ้าหากเข้าผิดจังหวะ ยิ่งทิ้งไว้นาน จะยิ่งเสียหายมาก และทำให้โอกาสที่จะได้ทุนคืนยากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ (losses are harder to regain)

- หนทางไปสู่ความสำเร็จไม่ได้มีเพียงเส้นทางเดียว จุดสำคัญในการบริหารการลงทุนนั้นไม่ได้อยู่ที่รูปแบบ วิธีการ หรือสไตล์ ซึ่งเรื่องเหล่านี้เป็นเพียง "เกมภายนอก" (outer game) แต่เป็นเรื่องของทัศนคติ วิธีคิด พลังใจ ซึ่งเป็น "เกมภายใน" (inner game)
- ลำพังแค่การ "เอาชนะดัชนี" (beat the index) ไม่ใช่เรื่องยาก แต่ไม่มีใคร "เอาชนะตลาด" (beat the market) ได้ เคล็ด (ไม่) ลับในการจะยืนหยัดอยู่ในเกมการลงทุนอย่างตลอดรอดฝั่งในฐานะ "ผู้ชนะ" นั้น อยู่ที่การยืนอยู่ข้างเดียวกับตลาดไม่ใช่ฝืนตลาด

- นอกจากนี้ คุณต้อง "รู้จักตลาด" (know the market) คือ รู้ว่าตลาดการเงินมีธรรมชาติเป็นอย่างไร อะไรคือสาเหตุเบื้องหลังที่ทำให้เกิดการกระเพื่อมขึ้นลงของตลาด และรู้วิธีการในการบริหารความเสี่ยงในการลงทุนว่าต้องแก้ไขปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นอย่างไร
- อย่าติดอยู่ในกับดักของ "การบริโภคข้อมูลเกินขนาด" (information overload) ซึ่งมัวแต่สนใจหาข้อมูล ศึกษา วิเคราะห์ จนไม่กล้าลงมือปฏิบัติ (analysis paralysis) เพราะมีความเชื่ออย่างผิดๆ แบบพวกมองโลกสมบูรณ์แบบ (perfectionist) ว่าถ้ามีข้อมูลที่สมบูรณ์จะไม่เกิดความผิดพลาด (zero-defect mentality) จริงๆ แล้ว หัวใจสำคัญของการบริหารการลงทุนนั้นอยู่ที่การ "จำกัดความเสี่ยง" (risk limitation) ไม่ใช่ "กำจัดความเสี่ยง" (risk elimination) ถ้าถามว่ากฎที่สำคัญที่สุดที่สรุปได้จากการปฏิบัติ (rule of thumb) ของผู้เขียนหนังสือชุด "อยากรวย ต้องรู้" คืออะไร ก็อยากตอบว่า rule of "ทำ" นั่นคือ "รู้แล้วต้องลงมือทำ" เพราะในภาษาอังกฤษ คำว่า "โชคลาภ" (luck) เป็นตัวย่อของ Laboring Under Correct Knowledge แปลว่า "ลงมือทำ ด้วยความพากเพียร โดยอาศัยความรู้ที่ถูกต้อง" นั่นเอง
